The Student Council Jean Drive
Dear UNIS Community,
The Tutorial House Student Council is excited to announce the Student Council Jean Drive, which runs from now to February 10, 2012. The drive is being held in the UNIS Lobby.
Did you know that 1 in 3 homeless people in the U.S. is under the age of 18? According to a 2009 study by the National Center on Family Homelessness, around 1.5 million children are homeless each year. By donating gently worn jeans, we can help make a difference for those people.
All donations collected from this drive will go to Teens for Jeans, a campaign run by the non-profit organization Do Something that aims to motivate young people to take action in real-world causes. According to their website, the Teens for Jeans program currently has the support of over 8,000 schools nationwide. For more information, you can visit the official Teens for Jeans page at http://www.dosomething.org/teensforjeans or contact the Student Council at info@unisstudentcouncil.org.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
The Tutorial House Student Council
